The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is proud to announce that its 2025 Discretionary Grant Program will open for applications on April 22, 2025, and close on May 26, 2025.
This program is designed to allocate discretionary funds to organizations, volunteer groups, and event organizers whose work enhances the cultural, social, environmental, or economic well-being of the Niagara-on-the-Lake community.
“The Discretionary Grant Program is an investment in the people and organizations that make our community vibrant,” stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “By supporting local initiatives and grassroots efforts, we’re empowering residents to bring their ideas to life and make a meaningful impact in Niagara-on-the-Lake.”
Funded through revenue generated by the Town’s parking program, the Discretionary Grant Program has a total budget of $90,600 available in 2025. These funds support a wide variety of community-based events and capital purchases that create visible, lasting benefits across the municipality.
“This program reflects the Town’s commitment to responsive, community-driven governance,” stated CAO Bruce Zvaniga. “It provides flexible funding that helps local groups address emerging needs and opportunities, fostering innovation and collaboration at the community level.”
Eligible applicants include registered not-for-profit organizations and local volunteer groups based in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Projects may include community events, small-scale infrastructure improvements, or equipment purchases that serve public interests.
