Town Engineering includes the survey, design, and construction management services of transportation, sewer, water and drainage projects, and manages street lighting, pavement markings and maintenance. Engineering Staff combine computer technology with sound engineering principles to economically deliver all aspects of project design, from cost estimates to final construction drawings and specifications and tendering of works. This includes surveying and project supervision and inspection for some of the municipal projects undertaken by this Department. Where workload or specialized needs demand, the services of qualified engineering consultants are engaged to augment in-house technical Staff.

Clean Water and Wastewater Funds
In 2016 the Federal budget announced the establishment of a Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) to assist Ontario communities with vital infrastructure funding.
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake received funding under the CWWF for five watermain upgrade projects:
- Line 3 Road asbestos clay watermain upgrade
- King Street cast iron watermain upgrade
- Simcoe Street cast iron watermain upgrade, Centre Street cast iron watermain upgrade, and
- Niagara-on-the-Lake Commons cast iron watermain upgrade.
The Federal government funded up to 50% of the project costs, the Provincial government provided up to 25% of the project costs, and the Town funded the remaining 25%. The five watermain projects were completed during the summer of 2018.
