Program Staff and kids play in the Virgil Sports Park on a sunny summer day.

Play in the Park launched in 2024 and is a free, unstructured drop-in initiative designed to engage children, youth and young adults in outdoor play. Play in the Park will be touring around Niagara-on-the-Lake again for the 2025 summer, bringing new and interesting sports and opportunities to parks across the Town. Participants can enjoy free sports such as soccer, golf, basketball, spike ball, badminton, frisbee, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball, corn hole, ultimate frisbee and more. All skill levels and abilities are welcome.

How do I participate?

Simply show up at the playground in the parks listed in the Summer Calendar and come play outside! Registration is not required.

Participants under the age of six years must be accompanied and supervised by a caregiver (14 years of age or older) at all times.

Program Participants

  • Wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately to play sports outdoors.
  • Be respectful of other participants, their personal space and their abilities.
  • Notify Staff immediately if you or someone else is hurt or feeling unwell.
  • Follow directions provided by Staff, including wearing all protective gear provided as required.
