Fireworks Application Information
A permit is required for all professional display fireworks, pyrotechnic, or special effects shows held within the Town of Niagara‑on‑the‑Lake. Personal or consumer fireworks are not covered by this permit.
Prepare and attach the following required documentation with your application:
- AHJ Approval Notification (to be signed by NOTL Fire & Emergency Services).
- Covering Letter from the fireworks company (date, time, location, crew, on‑site safety measures, etc.).
- Property Owner Authorization Letter (authorizing the display at the site).
- Detailed Site Plan (dimensions, markings, and direction of fall‑out).
- Liability Insurance Certificate naming The Corporation of the Town of Niagara‑on‑the‑Lake as additional insured; minimum $5,000,000 coverage.
- Photocopies of Fireworks Operatives’ I.D. (qualifications/credentials).
- Firework Display Product List (all products being used and sizes).
Event details (event name, date(s), display start/end times, location/venue, estimated attendance).
Property owner contact.
Fireworks company and on‑site crew information.
Applicant declaration.- Application review and processing are billed at an hourly rate per the current Town fee schedule. You’ll be invoiced separately for applicable fees and any administrative charges.
Fire & Emergency Services User Fees & Service Charges Schedule - Submit your complete package early to allow for review, AHJ sign‑off, and any site clarifications.
Incomplete applications or missing documents can delay approval.
