St. Mark’s Anglican Church

St. Mark’s was founded by the Rev. Robert Addison in 1792. The sandstone building was a prominent part of the community by 1804, was ravaged by fire in the War of 1812, but soon restored. The church and cemetery have been in continuous use longer than any others in Ontario. The Tuscan style Rectory, Addison Hall which houses Ontario’s oldest library, the Church and Cemetery have always been a significant presence in Niagara on the Lake.
