After an internal hiring initiative, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is pleased to announce Victoria Steele as the Strategy and Government Relations Officer, effective March 13, 2023.
In this role, Victoria will be responsible for leading and implementing Town Council’s Strategic Plan, overseeing priority corporate initiatives, and providing guidance to the CAO and Senior Management Team. This position is also responsible for planning and executing government relations activities and initiatives, advocacy efforts, and management of grant writing.
Victoria has been with the Town since 2015 and has succeeded in numerous roles, each advancing her corporate responsibility. Most recently, Victoria held the position of Acting Town Clerk/Manager of Legislative Services. Victoria has experience from her previous positions at the Town in grant writing, overseeing Council’s Strategic Plan, cultivating government relations, and co-leading the Climate Change Adaptation Plan.
Victoria has a Bachelor of Arts, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Administration, and a Diploma in Municipal Administration. She also has Certificates in strategic planning and execution from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Her extensive training will contribute to her success in this role.
