-Niagara-on-the-Lake- The Town’s 2022 budget survey has launched on Join the Conversation, Niagara-on-the-Lake’s online engagement platform, to receive feedback from residents, business owners and community stakeholders. Until midnight on Sunday, November 7, 2021, members of the public are invited to provide input on priorities.
“Town Council is committed to ensuring a sound budget process each year,” says Lord Mayor Betty Disero. “Public engagement is essential in building a budget that reflects residents’ wants and needs. A special thanks to the Audit and Finance Committee for their leadership throughout the budget process.”
The annual budget covers a wide range of services that support Town operations and deliver high-quality programs in the community. The Town’s budget comprises Operating and Capital Budgets that are designed to address programs, services, asset management, infrastructure, Council objectives and more.
With this survey, Town Staff and Council can better understand what services residents, business owners and stakeholders value when creating the 2022 budget.
“Town Staff and Council work diligently throughout the budget process to ensure there is a balance between service levels and financial sustainability,” says CAO Marnie Cluckie. “Staff continue to make great efforts to prepare a sustainable budget that supports the needs of the community now and into the future.”
The Join the Conversation page also features information about how the budget works and frequently asked questions about the Town’s budget process, including information about the Town’s new comprehensive budgeting solution called Questica.
