Media Release - Niagara-on-the-Lake Council Chambers to Reopen to the Public

Niagara-on-the-Lake Council Chambers.

On Monday, August 22, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Council Chambers at Town Hall will reopen to members of the public and media personnel for Council, Committee of the Whole (COTW), and Planning Public Meetings.

“After two years of virtual meetings, I look forward to having members of the public join us in the Council Chambers once again,” stated Lord Mayor Betty Disero.

Initially, the Chambers will reopen with a capacity limit of 30 people (excluding Council Members and Staff). The capacity limit is a temporary measure to ensure the Town’s reopening efforts continue to be safe and gradual. Individuals wishing to attend an upcoming COTW or Council meeting are requested to register via email to the Town’s Clerks’ Division at by noon (12:00 p.m.) on the day of the meeting. Registrants will be advised via email if the meeting capacity is reached.

“This is an exciting step as we return to regular business in our Town Council Chambers,” stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. “Staff is delighted to be reopening Committee of the Whole and Council meetings for in-person attendance by the public.”

Live webcasting of all meetings will continue. For more information about Town Council and Committee Meetings, please visit
