Play in the Park

Program Staff and kids play in the Virgil Sports Park on a sunny summer day.

Launched in 2024, Play in the Park is a free, unstructured drop-in initiative designed to engage children, youth, and young adults in outdoor play. The program wrapped up for the 2025 summer season, and we look forward to bringing it back to parks across Niagara-on-the-Lake in Summer 2026.

Participants will once again be able to enjoy a variety of free sports and activities such as soccer, golf, basketball, spike ball, badminton, frisbee, lacrosse, volleyball, baseball, corn hole, ultimate frisbee, and more. All skill levels and abilities are welcome.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library is excited to be joining the Play in the Park initiative in 2025!

The NOTLPL Pop-Up Library will be on site with Play in the Park on Monday mornings, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Sparky's Park in St. Davids. Join us for Storytime, Creation Station, and Summer Reading Club meet-ups! We will also have a selection of adult and children’s books available to browse and check out right on site. We can't wait to see you all around NOTL this summer!

How do I participate?

Simply show up at the playground in the parks listed in the Summer Calendar and come play outside! Registration is not required.

Participants under the age of six years must be accompanied and supervised by a caregiver (14 years of age or older) at all times.
