About the Project

Mississagua Street between Mary Street and Queen Street will include a full reconstruction of the roadway including new road base and asphalt, upgraded decorative street lighting, new sidewalk on the west side of the street and utility relocations as required.

Summary:

Overall Road Cross Section: The heritage look and feel will be maintained with the use of swales and ditches.
Infrastructure Improvements - Water: The existing water main will be extended from Johnson Street to Queen Street.
Infrastructure Improvements - Sanitary: The sanitary sewer between Mary Street and Gage Street will be replaced.
Infrastructure Improvements - Storm: A new storm sewer will be constructed to accommodate storm water runoff through the entire corridor. 
Active Transportation Improvements - Pedestrians: New Sidewalk on west side of the street.
Active Transportation Improvements - Cyclists: Dedicated bike lanes with painted buffers.
Vehicular Traffic: Two travel lanes for vehicles, left and right turning lane at Mary Street.
Streetlight Enhancements: Addition of decorative post top streetlights & fixtures. 

The anticipated construction schedule is Summer / Fall 2026 to Spring 2027.

The public will be notified of any impacts to vehicular and pedestrian traffic as the project advances. Properties within project limits will be notified prior to the commencement of construction.
