Public Notice - Holiday Hours & Activities 2023

As we approach the holiday season, Town Council and Staff would like to express their gratitude to residents, community members, and visitors for making 2023 a remarkable year in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

We encourage you to take some time to unwind and spend quality time with your loved ones!

Please keep in mind the following holiday hours for Town and community facilities as you plan your holiday activities:

Town Administration and Operations Buildings

Town Administration and Operations Buildings will close on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. and reopen to the public on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 8:30 a.m.

Any emergency matters relating to roads, water, and enforcement can be reported using the After-Hours phone line at 905-682-2704.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre

  • Sunday, December 24: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Monday, December 25: CLOSED
  • Tuesday, December 26: CLOSED
  • Wednesday, December 27:  6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 28: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday, December 29: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 30: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 31: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Monday, January 1: CLOSED
  • Tuesday, January 2: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Meridian Credit Union and Centennial Arenas

  • Sunday, December 24: Closes at 4:00 p.m.
  • Monday, December 25: CLOSED
  • Sunday, December 31: Closes at 4:00 p.m.
  • Monday, January 1: CLOSED 

All other dates will observe regular operating hours of 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Public Skating Schedule

Public skating is available at the Meridian Credit Union and Centennial Arenas over the holidays. For more information about the arenas and public skating, please visit www.notl.com/recreation-events/programs-activities/public-skating.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library

  • Sunday, December 24: CLOSED 
  • Monday, December 25: CLOSED 
  • Tuesday, December 26: CLOSED 
  • Wednesday, December 27: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 28: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday, December 29: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • Saturday, December 30: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
  • Sunday, December 31: CLOSED 
  • Monday, January 1: CLOSED 

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library has a lot of fun activities taking place over the holidays. For more information, please visit notlpubliclibrary.org.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum

  • Monday, December 18, 2023, to Monday, January 1, 2024: CLOSED

All other dates will observe regular operating hours of 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

NRT OnDemand Transit

NRT OnDemand Transit will not be operational on December 25, 26, and January 1. For more information, please visit https://niagararegion.ca/transit/holiday-schedule.aspx.

Niagara Regional Garbage, Recycling and Organics Collection

There are no changes to curbside collection during the holidays.

Christmas tree collection will take place on residents’ regular collection day during the week of January 8-12, 2023.
