The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, through its consultants, Stantec, invites community members to help shape the future of transportation by providing feedback on the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) Update.
Every community changes over time, and so do its transportation needs. Since first introducing the Transportation Master Plan to residents in 2022, the Town has continued to study how people move throughout Niagara-on-the-Lake, incorporating updated growth projections, policy changes, and new transportation data. Now, as the plan enters its final stage, the Town is inviting residents to review the updated recommendations and help shape the final document before it is presented for adoption.
The updated Transportation Master Plan assesses both short- and long-term transportation needs, reviews existing infrastructure, and identifies opportunities to improve mobility for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and motorists. The plan will guide transportation planning and investment across Niagara-on-the-Lake through 2041.
"Over the past several years, we've continued to refine this plan to ensure it reflects where Niagara-on-the-Lake is today and where we're headed tomorrow," said Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. "This final round of engagement gives residents an opportunity to review the updated recommendations and help shape a transportation network that will serve our community for years to come."
Residents are encouraged to participate at a time that works best for them by watching a pre-recorded presentation online through Join the Conversation from July 23 to August 24, 2026, and sharing their feedback through the online comment box.
The presentation will provide an overview of the study, summarize the work completed to date, explain why the update is being undertaken, and outline the proposed next steps. The online format allows participants to review the information at their own pace, revisit the presentation as needed throughout the engagement period, and provide feedback when it is most convenient for them. No registration is required to participate.
"Public input has been and remains an essential part of this process," said CAO Nick Ruller. "We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to watch the presentation and share their feedback to help inform the Town’s final Transportation Master Plan."
