The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) to support proactive stormwater management improvements, address localized drainage concerns and improve the Vineyard Creek Stormwater Management (SWM) pond. This study will explore alternative solutions and identify a preferred approach to enhance stormwater management.

As part of the process, the Town is inviting community members to participate in a Public Information Centre (PIC) to learn more about the project and provide input.

The PIC will be held on:

  • Date: April 16, 2026
  • Location: Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre Auditorium, 14 Anderson Lane
  • Time: Drop-in from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Registration is not required.
  • Presentation: 5:30 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to review the study, discuss potential solutions, and speak directly with Town Staff and its consultant, GEI Consultants Canada Ltd.

“The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process allows us to carefully evaluate options and make informed decisions that balance technical needs with community priorities,” said CAO Nick Ruller. “Public input is a key part of this process.”

The study is anticipated to take approximately 1.5 years to complete. Updates and materials will be made available following the PIC.

Residents can also provide comments or requests to be added to the project mailing list by contacting the project team at vineyardcreekmcea@notl.com. Learn more by viewing the project page
