After nearly four years of dedicated service to the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Director of Community and Development Services, Kirsten McCauley, has announced her decision to pursue the next step in her career as the Director of Planning & Development Services for the Town of Grimsby.
During her time with the Town, Kirsten has been instrumental in advancing several key initiatives, including the Glendale Secondary Plan, progress on the Official Plan, and advancement of the review and expansion of the Heritage Conservation District boundaries, fees review, and Character Study, among many others. Beyond her technical expertise, Kirsten has been a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team, consistently offering thoughtful perspectives, strategic insight, and support for her colleagues. She has also been a strong advocate for cultivating a positive, people-centred workplace culture.
Through her leadership and guidance, Kirsten has built a strong, capable team and implemented effective systems and processes that will continue to benefit the organization well into the future. Her legacy of teamwork, professionalism, and excellence will remain a lasting part of the Town’s culture.
The Town extends heartfelt thanks to Kirsten for her tremendous contributions and wishes her every success as she embarks on this new opportunity.
Kirsten’s last day with the Town will be November 26, 2025. Work is currently underway to establish an interim plan and recruitment strategy.
