
On March 19, 2025, Lord Mayor Zalepa was honoured to attend the official provincial cabinet unveiling ceremony, highlighting the Town’s commitment to working collaboratively with the Province to advance key priorities and projects that will benefit Niagara-on-the-Lake.
“On behalf of Town Council, I look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with the Province to address important municipal priorities,” stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “From infrastructure investments to economic development initiatives, we are eager to work alongside the provincial government to ensure continued growth and prosperity for our residents and businesses.”
Maintaining strong government relations and advocacy efforts is an important priority of Council’s Strategic Plan, as noted in the Good Governance Pillar. These connections play a vital role in advocating for local needs, securing support for key initiatives, and ensuring that the interests of Niagara-on-the-Lake remain a focus at the provincial level.
“We look forward to continuing the work and building on the strong partnerships we have established with provincial leaders,” stated Government Relations, Economic Development, and Tourism Officer Ashleigh Myers. “At the same time, we are eager to forge new relationships with incoming Ministers to ensure that Niagara-on-the-Lake’s priorities remain top of mind at Queen’s Park.”
