The Town is thrilled to announce that Niagara-on-the-Lake's Park Hop, a family-friendly animal-themed scavenger hunt, will be back for another summer after its initial success in 2021.
“Niagara-on-the-Lake is full of beautiful public parks with scenic greenery, colourful gardens and, of course, fun play structures,” stated Lord Mayor Betty Disero. “I encourage families and young children to explore all that Niagara-on-the-Lake parks have to offer; what better way to do that than by spending time outdoors participating in the Park Hop.”
Beginning Tuesday, July 19, the Park Hop will lead participants through a scavenger hunt exploring twelve (12) of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s parks. This year, the Park Hop is being organized on a free application (App) called GooseChase.
How to Participate:
- Download the GooseChase App for iOS or Android
- Log in or create an account, or participate as a guest
- Search "Park Hop 2022" or by game code 91WL8Z
Players can achieve points by using the App to check in at all Park Hop locations, entering the correct animal at each park, and submitting a fun picture. More information about various elements of the scavenger hunt is detailed in the App.
“The Park Hop is a wonderful way for Niagara-on-the-Lake families to enjoy the outdoors and explore many of the Town’s parks and amenity spaces,” stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. “Last year’s Park Hop was enjoyed by many, and we hope to again see participants enjoying this fun-filled initiative while taking advantage of the lovely summer weather.”
Participants will have from Tuesday, July 19 to Wednesday, August 31, to complete all Park Hop tasks for the chance to win prizes and a certificate upon completion. Participants are encouraged to share their progression through Niagara-on-the-Lake's different parks! Post pictures of your Park Hop adventures on social media and be sure to tag the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and use the hashtag #NOTLParkHop. Pictures can also be submitted via email to communications@notl.com.
