Media Release - Niagara-on-the-Lake Launches Play in the Park Initiative

From July 8 to August 29, the Town is excited to host its “Play in the Park” initiative, a free, unstructured drop-in program to engage children, youth, and adults in outdoor play.

A “Play in the Park” branded vehicle with portable playground equipment will travel throughout Niagara-on-the-Lake to bring sports and activities directly to your favourite community parks! All skill levels and abilities are welcome, and registration is not required. Participants under six years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a caregiver (14 years of age or older) at all times.

"Play in the Park is an exciting program that brings sports to our community,” stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “By travelling through various parks in Niagara-on-the-Lake, we're ensuring that our youth have access to free play opportunities right in their neighbourhoods. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to enhancing programming and making it accessible to all residents, furthering Council’s Strategic Plan.”
