Proclamations 

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 

Council approved a proclamation declaring September 2026 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Niagara-on-the-Lake, recognizing children and families affected by childhood cancer and raising awareness of pediatric cancer research, treatment, and support services. 

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day 

Council approved the appointment of an engineer to update the Szockyj Municipal Drain report under the Drainage Act. The study will review and update the drainage catchment area, identify recommendations to address drainage issues, and revise cost apportionments to reflect current conditions. 

Budget Amendment – Public Works Stormwater Management Needs (PWIS-26-011) 

Council approved a capital budget amendment to address stormwater management needs identified by Public Works, supporting infrastructure reliability and flood mitigation across the Town. 

1895 Concession 4 Road – Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA-05-2026) (PBDS-26-073) 

Council approved a Zoning By-law Amendment for 1895 Concession 4 Road, enabling a surplus farm dwelling severance, as outlined in the staff report. 

2027–2031 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (CPS-26-016) 

Council approved the Town's 2027–2031 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, setting out a five-year roadmap of initiatives to identify, prevent, and remove barriers for people with disabilities across municipal facilities, services, and programs, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

With the 2026 Municipal Election taking place on Monday, October 26, 2026, the Inaugural Meeting of the new Council will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., followed by the new Council's first regular Council meeting on Tuesday, December 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
