The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake wishes the community a wonderful Victoria Day long weekend!
The Town Administration Building and Operations Building, Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre and Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library are closed on Monday, May 18, 2026, to observe Victoria Day.
Looking for something fun to do with family and friends this weekend?
There’s so much to enjoy right here in Niagara-on-the-Lake, including the annual Virgil Stampede, taking place from Saturday, May 16 to Monday, May 18 at Virgil Sports Park (1565 Four Mile Creek Road). The event features rides, games, family-friendly activities, great food, and a fireworks display on Monday. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Virgil Stampede website.
Please note that in preparation for the Virgil Stampede, Lorraine Street, from just past the Post Office entrance to the street’s dead end, will be accessible to pedestrian and local vehicular traffic only. On-street parking will not be allowed during this period. The closure will take place from Friday, May 15, at 8:00 a.m. to Tuesday, May 19, at 5:00 p.m. Read the public notice.
While you're out and about, don't forget to take advantage of the many parks and outdoor amenities the Town offers. Many amenities are already open and ready to enjoy, including:
- Tennis courts, skatepark, and basketball courts
- Playgrounds
- Baseball diamonds and soccer fields at Memorial Park and Virgil Sports Park
- The scenic Queen’s Royal Park Gazebo
