
WHAT: The 5th annual Tractor Parade, proudly sponsored by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Lions Club, has become a cherished local tradition that celebrates the Town’s vibrant agricultural community and lights up the streets of Virgil. This year, over 80 tractors are participating!
WHEN: The Tractor Parade is on Thursday, December 11, 2025, starting at 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: The parade will begin and end at the Meridian Credit Union and Centennial Arena parking lot (1565 Four Mile Creek Road, Virgil). To ensure the safety of all participants and spectators, road closures will be in effect starting at 5:30 p.m. on December 11. Roads will reopen gradually as the last tractor passes through different sections of the community.
Full road closures are in place, with emergency access only. These are outlined in the map:
- Line 2 Road (From Concession 4 Road to Four Mile Creek Road)
- Four Mile Creek Road (From Line 2 Road to Pleasant Lane)
- Pleasant Lane (From Four Mile Creek Road to Elden Street)
- Elden Street (From Pleasant Lane to Penner Street)
- Penner Street / Line 1 Road (From Elden Street to Concession 4 Road)
- Concession 4 Road (From Line 1 Road to Line 2 Road)
Local traffic only occurs at certain intersections. These include:
- Intersection of East and West Line and Four Mile Creek Road
- Intersection of Line 1 Road and Concession 6 Road
- Intersection of Niagara Stone Road and Henegan Road
- Intersection of Niagara Stone Road and Concession 4 Road
Detour routes around the closure as follows:
- Concession 2 Road (from East and West Line to Line 3 Road)
- East and West Line (from Concession 6 Road to Concession 2 Road)
- Concession 6 Road (from East and West Line to Line 3 Road)
- Line 3 Road (from Concession 6 Road to Concession 2 Road)
Parking
Parking will be restricted along Pleasant Lane (Private), Elden Street and Penner Street on both sides, as well as Four Mile Creek Road between Line 2 Road and Lorraine Street. All other on-street parking regulations will apply.

COMMUNICATION: Local businesses in road-closure areas will receive advance notice of the event. Niagara Region Staff has placed two digital signs in the surrounding areas to provide notice of the road closures, and the Town will promote the event and provide road closure updates on its website and social media platforms.
The Town is working closely with Regional Staff to ensure a smooth and successful parade, including well-coordinated road closures.
Emergency Services have been informed of these closures and have developed a plan to ensure emergency services to the properties in the closure area remain unaffected.
