The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is excited to host a festive Tree Lighting on Monday, December 1, 2025, in front of Town Hall (1593 Four Mile Creek Road, Virgil), welcoming everyone to kick off the holiday season together. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., with the official tree lighting at 6:45 p.m.

“This Tree Lighting is just one of the many ways we celebrate community spirit here in Niagara-on-the-Lake,” said Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “The holidays are a special time, and I’m thrilled to join residents of all ages as we officially welcome the season together and turn the Christmas lights on the large tree in front of Town Hall.”

Attendees can warm up with hot chocolate generously donated by Corks Wine Bar & Eatery, enjoy holiday treats, and take in festive Christmas music. Kids will also have the chance to explore a fire truck onsite and meet some local firefighters! Additionally, Christmas Parade buttons will be available for purchase.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to come together at Town Hall and celebrate the start of the holiday season,” stated CAO Nick Ruller. “We look forward to welcoming families and friends from all over Town!”

To add to the fun, the Town, thanks to a generous donation from Bloom & Co., invites attendees to capture a photo during the Tree Lighting and tag the Town on FacebookX, or Instagram by December 2 for a chance to win a beautiful Christmas urn. The winner will be announced on the Town’s social media channels and can pick up their prize anytime after December 2. Let’s show off the holiday spirit that makes Niagara-on-the-Lake such a special place!

Thank you to those helping make this night possible, including Corks Wine Bar & Eatery, NOTL Hydro, Bloom & Co., Town Staff, and Volunteer Firefighters.

The Town looks forward to welcoming community members to this festive occasion.
