The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is updating its Dock Area Masterplan, a key document that will help shape the future of this valued community space. The project is being led by MHBC Planning Urban Design & Landscape Architecture.
“The Dock Area holds special meaning for residents and visitors alike,” stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “This update will ensure we protect its natural character while improving access and usability for everyone.”
The updated plan is intended to guide future improvements and enhancements to the Dock Area and its surroundings, addressing priorities such as parking, passive and recreational waterfront access, shoreline protection, and the overall user experience.
The Dock Area Masterplan update will also align with other Town initiatives, including the Parks & Recreation Masterplan and Council’s Strategic Plan, supporting a coordinated approach to parks, open spaces, and waterfront management.
“The Dock Area is an important part of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s identity,” said CAO Nick Ruller. “This update reflects the ongoing work of Staff to advance Council’s Strategic Plan priorities.”
Public engagement will play a key role in this process, and residents are encouraged to participate and share their feedback via a Public Information Centre:
- Date: November 26, 2025
- Time: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
- Location: NOTL Community Centre Simpson Room (14 Anderson Lane)
- RSVP is not required.
