The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has released the second draft of its updated Official Plan (OP), marking another important step in shaping the community’s future.
The Official Plan is the Town’s guiding land use document. It sets out a vision for growth, development, and community priorities, and provides direction on housing, transportation, agriculture, natural and cultural heritage, and economic development.
This second draft reflects feedback received through extensive community engagement, including public information centres, a resident survey earlier in 2024, and comments provided on the first draft this past summer.
How to Provide Feedback
Residents will have opportunities to learn more and share feedback on both the Official Plan and the Former Hospital Site project. While the Official Plan sets the long-term vision for how the Town will grow and develop, the Former Hospital Site is a key property that represents a significant opportunity for community use and redevelopment.
Because of their importance, dedicated sessions have been scheduled to ensure residents can provide input on both the Official Plan and the future of this landmark site. Sessions are drop-in style, and no registration is required:
