The Town is happy to announce that new parking payment machines are being installed in the Heritage District!
New machines will be installed on Queen Street before the May long weekend, with additional machines to follow on the side streets. This will be a gradual process to ensure a smooth transition.
“In time for Niagara-on-the-Lake’s busy season, we are thrilled to announce the installation of new parking machines,” stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “These machines will help ensure Niagara-on-the-Lake remains committed to providing the best possible customer experience. I’d like to extend my gratitude to our business owners, residents, and visitors for their patience as the Town navigated to find the best solution.”
The new parking machines will accept credit, debit, and coin payments. Online payment options will continue to be available through the Honk Mobile app and a new online platform, ParkedIn will also be offered. Both online payment methods accept Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Masterpass, American Express, and PayPal.
The Town would like to remind residents and visitors to continue to practice safe and responsible parking habits. Please adhere to the posted time limits, do not park in no-parking zones, and respect designated accessible parking spaces.
"The Town appreciates the patience and understanding shown by the community during the adjustment period with the parking machines," added CAO Bruce Zvaniga. "I would like to thank staff for addressing the parking machine concerns and implementing an effective solution. With these improvements, paid parking will once again be hassle-free and streamlined for everyone."
These enhancements are expected to strengthen the Heritage District's parking infrastructure, facilitating more seamless parking experiences.
As a reminder, residents can purchase parking passes for $30 per calendar year, allowing up to three hours of free parking in the Heritage District. Visit https://www.notl.com/town-services/parking/permits-penalties for information on how to obtain a pass.
