The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is delighted to host the annual Golf Classic Tournament on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Royal Niagara Golf Club in Glendale.
This year's tournament, the 23rd of its kind, is organized and led by a Committee of Town Staff and residents with the help of Niagara Motors, this year's major sponsor. The day will include golf play, prizes, and a dinner at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre (14 Anderson Lane).
This year's event proceeds will go toward supplies and equipment for new recreation programs starting in Fall 2023, including portable hockey equipment, basketball nets, gymnastics mats, sporting equipment, technology, and art supplies.
"The Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Classic Tournament is an event many community members look forward to each year and is a great way to support community engagement while supporting our programming and facility enhancements," stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. "On behalf of Town Council, thank you to the Golf Committee and Town Staff for organizing, planning and hosting this event for the past 23 years!"
This year's tournament will begin at 10:30 a.m. and end at approximately 4:30 p.m. Dinner will be held following the tournament at 5:30 p.m. at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre.
"I love seeing events like our Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Classic Tournament come to life," stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. "Events like this provide an excellent opportunity for community members to join together, have fun, and raise funds for valuable Parks and Recreation Community projects and programs. I encourage residents of all skill levels to consider participating in this year's tournament. We hope to see you on the green!"
