Beginning March 1, 2023, residents who have moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake as of January 1, 2023, can visit Town Hall (1593 Four Mile Creek Road, Virgil) to pick up their New Resident Welcome Package.
“Niagara-on-the-Lake residents are the backbone to this beautiful and historic community,” stated Lord Mayor Zalepa. “From residents who have lived here their whole lives, to those who have recently joined our wonderful community, everyone is welcome, and it is our sincere hope that every resident feels valued and accepted. These new packages are a small way for us to say, Welcome. We are so glad that you choose to make Niagara-on-the-Lake your home.”
These packages, inclusive of a branded Niagara-on-the-Lake tote bag, vouchers, discount codes, and pertinent information surrounding Town facilities, amenities, and service options, are intended to support new residents as they transition into the community.
The New Resident Welcome Package includes passes allowing new residents to test out the Community Centre fitness centre, local swimming pools, arena, and enjoy a complimentary Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum historical walking tour. The package also includes a current copy of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Guide.
“There is so much to think of and do when moving, and our goal is to be as supportive as we can to our new residents,” stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. “From picking up recycling bins, purchasing parking passes and dog tags, our Customer Experience Staff are ready and eager to welcome new residents with a friendly smile and a New Resident Welcome Package! New residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake, we can’t wait to meet you. You belong here! Thank you for making us better by joining our community. We really are better, together. A special thank you also to Town Staff for putting these lovely packages together. Your kindness to our residents is noticed and appreciated.”
