The Town is delighted to announce that the Meridian Credit Union and Centennial Arenas’ concession stand will reopen on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Warm coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, along with snacks and baked goods, will be available for purchase.
The concession stand will be open during public skating, Niagara-on-the-Lake Figure Skating activities, and Niagara-on-the-Lake Minor Hockey Games. Sweets and Swirls Café will be the concession operator this season; this will be their second Town location, in addition to their location at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre (14 Anderson Lane).
“Sweets & Swirls Café is a beloved location in Town, and on behalf of Town Council, we are thrilled to see the café open up at the arena,” stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. “The arena is a busy place this time of year, and I know that residents and visitors will enjoy having a place to get food and drinks.”
Sweets and Swirls Café will run the concession stand until the Spring. The Town will embark on a competitive procurement process for a permanent concession operator in 2023.
“Thank you to Town Staff for coordinating enhanced service offerings,” stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. “I invite you to visit the concession stand the next time you need a warm beverage or snack while at the Meridian Credit Union or Centennial Arenas!”
The concession’s hours of operation will be posted outside the concession and on the Town’s website.
