This will be the 22nd Golf Classic Tournament hosted by the Town

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is thrilled to bring back the annual Golf Classic Tournament on September 15, 2022, at the Royal Niagara Golf Club in Glendale, after a two-year pause due to pandemic restrictions.

This year is the 22nd Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Classic. This tournament, organized and led by a Committee of Town Staff and residents, looks to raise money for a Parks and Recreation Community project each year. In 2018, the tournament raised funds for the Voices of Freedom Park, and in 2019, the money raised was allocated for the St. Davids Pool.

“I am delighted to hear that this fun and engaging community event is back in action once again,” stated Lord Mayor Betty Disero. “This tournament is loved by so many in the community, and it is a great way to interact with other residents, with some friendly competition involved.”

This year’s tournament will begin at 12:00 p.m. and end at approximately 4:30 p.m. A dinner will be held at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre (14 Anderson Lane) following the tournament at 5:00 p.m.

“With the pandemic, it was unfortunate that this wonderful outdoor activity had to be put on hold,” stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. “Now that pandemic restrictions have eased, Town Staff is working hard to reinstate many Town events, including the golf tournament. We look forward to seeing residents, businesses and sponsors out having fun at the tournament this September!”

All proceeds from the tournament will go toward the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre Track and Fitness Area enhancements to replace various cardio equipment, make repairs to the walking track, and apply a new coat of paint.

PenFinancial is the Major Sponsor this year.

A special thanks to the Town’s Golf Committee Members for working hard to put this event together!
