Update: Additional Residential Unit Policies
Town Council approved the Additional Residential Unit policies on December 9, 2025. The approved policies and By-laws can be found here:

Town Staff are working to update the Town Additional Residential Unit Guide to align with the approved policies.
Description:
Council endorsed the initiation of Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments for Additional Residential Units (ARUs) to bring the Town’s Official Plan and Zoning By-laws into conformity with provincial legislation and policies.
The proposed Amendments would provide a policy framework in the Town Official Plan, Zoning By-law 4316-09 (as amended), and Zoning By-law 500A-74 (as amended) to allow for ARUs on urban residential parcels and rural parcels that permit residential uses.
