Media Release - Niagara-on-the-Lake Relaunches Discretionary Grant Program

The Town is proud to announce that its Discretionary Grant Program opens for applications on September 7, 2023, and closes on October 20, 2023!

This Program is designed to allocate discretionary funds to organizations, groups and events that contribute to the cultural, social, environmental, and economic well-being of the Niagara-on-the-Lake community.

"The Discretionary Grant Program is aimed at expanding the Town's support for those who enhance our Town's welfare," stated Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. "The opportunities provided through this Program positively impact our community and help realize the aspirations of organizations, groups, and events across the Town. We are excited to relaunch this valued Program."

The Town operates a Discretionary Grant Program with a total budget of $102,000 funded from the parking program. The Program supports a wide variety of community-based events and capital purchases to create investments in the community that are easily observed and have a positive community impact.

"By providing financial assistance and resources, the Discretionary Grant Program empowers different community groups to see their ideas come to life," stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. "Through this Program, the Town is able to help strengthen community connections and contribute to developing a vibrant and inclusive community. Thank you to Town Staff for their dedication to once again bring this Program to fruition following a temporary program suspension during the COVID-19 pandemic."
