By selecting "Yes" you are confirming that you are intending on burning for agricultural purposes.
Do you agree to all of the following regarding open-air burning:
By selecting "Yes", you agree to the following conditions:
 
Smoke will not pass over any road and/or highway decreasing the visibility of on-coming traffic
Burning will not take place on the municipal road allowance and/or below overhead cables and wires
Odour and/or smoke, to such an extent or degree, will not cause discomfort to persons or hazards of health, or cause loss of enjoyment of normal use of property in the immediate area.
Burning will not occur when wind conditions exist over 24 km per hour
The fire will be supervised at all times
A controlled open-air burn will be extinguished one (1) hour before sunset and will not be started before sunrise.
Means of extinguishment will be provided at the burn location (i.e. brooms, backhoe, and water hose)
Burning shall be restricted to the burning of agricultural brush only. Note: You must not burn household waste, construction material or any other material harmful to the environment.
Burning will not take place within 50 meters of any building, structure, fence, or other combustible material.
Any person setting a fire will be responsible for their actions and may be charged by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire & Emergency Services for their services in the event of an emergency.
