Dog Licences

Docupet

The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has partnered with DocuPet to provide an enhanced dog licensing experience for residents.

License Your Dog

Every Niagara-on-the-Lake dog owner is required to register their dog(s) with the Town and ensure they are vaccinated against rabies. Licensing your dog immediately after receiving a new rabies vaccination ensures you will receive a full licence term for your dog.

Licences previously expired on December 31, but through our new licensing partnership with DocuPet, all licences now expire on the anniversary of the dog's rabies vaccination. All dogs in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake are required to have a current year’s license within 14 days of being acquired or moving into Niagara-on-the-Lake.

When you register your dog with Niagara-on-the-Lake, you will receive a unique licence tag to attach to their collar. Our new licensing process with DocuPet allows residents to select a standard licence tag at no additional charge or upgrade to one of DocuPet’s colourful designer tag styles for an additional fee.

Each DocuPet tag, standard or designer, doubles as a pet’s official Niagara-on-the-Lake licence and comes equipped with the HomeSafe™ 24/7 lost pet service, which relies on a dedicated full time dispatch staff and linked pet profiles to help get lost pets home quickly.

License Online

Pet licences can now be purchased online at notl.docupet.com.
